![]() ![]() ![]() I gather that it invites a registration etc etc. There "First program startup" should open the Welcome Wizard. On pp 16-23 other operating systems are shown in detail not needed by a W7 user, so we come to p24. The attempt is made by the processor but an "Oops" type message shows up after a delay of 20 or so seconds. I may be worth noting that not once, in all the many times I have removed OOo has that survey opened for me. On p15, the title "Removal" seems to mean removal of OOo from the system, and states that "a survey form will open on your browser". So did p14, right through to "Finish" which I clicked, and as each time I have gone through that process, there it ends. Could that be the problem? Should I unplug the internet comnection and re-run the install proceedure, while my CA Antivirus is temporarily disabled?Īlso during the uninstall/cleanout, I found that the previous install did not write any Openoffice data into the. On p11, I found a reference to "Antivirus and firewalls" needing to be diabled. On p8, "System Requirements" it says JRE 1.4 or newer and Java Access Bridge are both needed on the system - giving web address for down load, which I have done, placing those files in the same directory as OOo application download. In an effort to self help, I have printed the step by step OOo3 "Installation Guide" dated Rev1.1 June 2010. I wonder if their old codes/paths there causing OO to stumble and not run? Anyway, back to the main track. One thought though as I write this, as I performed that most recent uninstall, I did see numerous copies of some Windows C++ type program files listed. So, here I am, totally confused, marooned and still without OOo function, even after trying a fresh download from an Australian mirror site today, following an uninstall and clean out of all previous OO files from my system AGAIN. I did find a site with a file "msvc90.dll" but am hesitant to download, because I also found that some problem exists about installing and registering it. all wall headbanking will cease forthwith. So, in very deep water now, launched out on Google raft to find out what and where about it.ran aground on an older posting on this forum relating to W7 download problems being fixed by "un-install the "IE9" - suggesting that in so doing. Tried to find it by search of system - no result, so presumably it is not on the system. ![]() Also from the OOo printed out "readme" file I discovered - ".make sure 'msvc90.dll' is installed on the system. Could not see a "1.6" or "1.7" but it did say "version 02". I ran a "How do I tell which version." test for my system on the Java website - result =x86 - which I understand to be the needed 32 bit version. I have now regeistered and am appealing for some kind soul to show me the way out of this blind alley - please. Followed all those steps to install but i am still faced with a quick flick of disc light and no more when trying to start from any source - 'shortcut' or 'start' button or rightclick 'run' from that pop-up menu or even 'run as administrator' on that pop up. Looking for "help" on the "readme" eventually I found this forum thread for the W7 64 with the helpful 'Adminstrator' x2 procedure. All done as per screen prompts - same flick and nothing more. Hmmm, uninstall and reinstall may be required. Tried everything including 'start' button way into the program etc - no response other than a short flick from the disc light. Strangely, the first down load seemed to work ok, for a few days.then no response from the machine when clicking the couple of desk top short cuts to frequently accessed files. Previous hard drive running W Vista used OO very well, and I wanted to continue with an excellent product. LibreOffice 7.6.Been attempting the download/intallation on a 2 week old W7 64 installation on a new hard drive in my HP laptop.
